I caught a Yogic Arts basics class over on the west side of city center with celebrity yoga master Duncan Wong. It was a fascinating practice. Lively, unexpected, entertaining, challenging, and very different from his ultra-slick DVD that I reviewed for Yogi Times magazine last year. The class atmosphere was part love nest, part boot camp, and part culture clash mash-up. The practice left me feeling extremely in touch with my body. Testament to that: lifting up into handstand in the chill-out lounge after class happened seemingly without any thought or effort at all. |
